Extended Urlography

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/932150.stm
A web site of a review of the material for an up-coming exhibition held by the Royal Academy of Arts in London, describing the works to be included as shocking, and “going too far”. The exhibition has been described as being a sequel to the 1997 Sensation Exhibition.
The article blatantly states that the shocking and controversial nature of the exhibition is in an attempt to boost ticket sales, as I had previously worked with the Sensation Exhibition.
The article states that the public have become sedated to shocking images and therefore the exhibition may not work in terms of high ticket sales. The article discusses how Tracey Emin's Turner Prize-nominated "bed provoked a wave of criticism last year however this year the newspapers “have only half-heartedly attacked her latest work - a beach hut.”
The articles states that “Apocalypse, despite its grand aims, may fail to stir the same emotions witnessed at the RA when Sensation, in effect Charles Saatchi's personal art collection, opened its doors” and that “Apocalypse is perhaps more arduous, than shocking”.

A BBC article describing a new exhibition by Saatchi and the RA to promote young American artists, with a means to furthering the artists careers and sales as the Sensation exhibition did for Emin and Hirst. The exhibition will be controversial in the sense that the works all have a political agenda.
