About Erin (.)
Erin Sanderson - Master of Managemetn
Who I am:
Originally from Michigan in the USA, I came to Australia for the first time as an exchange student in Feb of 2007. I have been here ever since!
Here's why:
I had done a degree in pre-med (chem) and ultimately majoring in philosophy back at my home university (St Norbert College in Green Bay Wis) and found myself very interested in Bioethics and Health Policy, and also found myself unsure if i wanted to go to either of the 2 best schools for Bioethics (Pittsburgh or Minneapolis) for a host of reasons---mostly the weather!
Anyhow, I wound up taking my last semester at Macquarie for a bit of an adventure, and in the process found out that the University of Sydney has one of the best Bioethics programs in the world! So...I stayed, and finished the last bit of my undergraduate at Macquarie.
I eventually completed my Bioethics Masters degree, and found myself wanting a different new adventure (I have a little ADD I was told...) and started looking for a business degree ( like an MBA or International business or something) to put with BE so that I could actually get a job in the real world.
Whilst studying my options, I spoke with a rep for the new Master of Management program...and found that it looked awesome!!
So, I am now in the first cohort of the Master of Management program. And I love it! So if anyone ever has any questions for me just throw me a message. It is a great cohort of people from nearly every European and many North American countries, as well as Asia Pacific. Also, everyone has all this different crazy undergrad degrees like IT or engineering which makes it so interesting!!
So as for now, this is who I am. I am looking to get into management consulting in the healthcare of biotech sectors after graduation next year.
What do I do for fun?
I love playing tennis, having great wines, sailing (especially lake Michigan in summer...you have to do it!!) and good food...I am really learning (or trying to) to be a good cook which is exciting. I need to do all of these things to keep sane whilst studying!
I am also very happy to answer any questions about USydney, the Econ and Business Faculty, or the Master of Management program, or simply exchange to the U.S. at any time...just hit me up!! feel free to email me with any serious q's at:
