Word of the Week - 22

1 December, 2006

woolloomooloo, n
in anim. husb. Great noise or excitement; uproar.

e.g. I was woken at 3 by the most tremendous woolloomooloo in the croc house. Bloody possums.

To me that definition should be `Great noise or excitement, especially involving sheep or cows.'

(In my experience, if you bring a loaf of bread near some sheep, you're likely to get a hell of a woolloomooloo. I don't understand why it is that sheep find bread so irresistible...)

:) I was thinking along those lines but didn't want to be so obvious.
