She's electric

5 June, 2007

Argh! I have never known a workplace so bad for static shocks. Every time I brush past the office or open the door, ZAP!

Going to have to start wearing gumboots. Or one of those stupid things you see hanging from the rear ends of certain cars.

The biotech company at which I work is so bad for static that I've crashed my laptop with the discharge. It's bloody painful too. I've taken to removing my shoes at my desk (my bench days are long past) so that I can ground myself.

hm, I want to say that I am happy that it is not only my problem... but that seems callus, and I am not evil ;) so I am sorry for you!!

Honestly, I useually get shocked getting out of my car. In cold wheather that is. The one thing good with the warm weather and turning me into a humid creature is possibly that I don't get hurt getting out of the car anymore.... small help though...

I always get shocked whenever and whatever I do. It is really bad.

Once, I even turned into a living battery. Somehow, I managed to keep some voltage inside my body, before I zapped the next three people that I met using my fingers.

Yup, just like Harry Potter and his magic wand.

this happens to me too! Must be the building we're in!

I am just shocked by the Black Knight dude. Shocking shorts.

About the Rat

Black Knight is interested in the interaction of science (as a day job and as a way of thinking) with his family, the wider community and literature. And tormenting students. Frequently polemical, sometimes serious, and hopefully always entertaining more
