Commenting?

5 March, 2008

Weblog admin question for all y'all.

I have reason to believe that some people are having difficulty commenting here.
If you are, please drop a line to blackasknight 'at' gmail.com, so that I can try and sort it out.

thanks. . .

Comments

No problem here...greetings from somewhere even more South.

Thanks for letting me know. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to the problem, yet.

And Firefox seems fine.

Yea... The site always thinks I'm a spammer. None of my comments since mid last year had ever got through actually.

Test

I noticed that, PS. You should be fine now that I've manually approved you.

However, the thing about 'not commenting so soon' is very strange.

Hah.

So far (thanks Neil and Kate!) the problem seems to occur if you hit 'preview'. So you probably shouldn't.

Less than ideal, I know: I'll file another bug report in the morning.

Hey BK,

Actually, I tried to put all of those comments using my MAC at home. The one from today was from uni IP. It's probably my ISP's address.

I'll try a preview and let you know if this doesn't make it through. If you can read it, all's well.

Update: got this as an answer, but I might have clicked twice -
"In an effort to curb malicious comment posting by abusive users, I've enabled a feature that requires a weblog commenter to wait a short amount of time before being able to post again. Please try to post your comment again in a short while. Thanks for your patience."

I don't tend to do preview, though. Therefore, usually no problems.

Mmm. It's the preview function. PS's problem (above) was that a comment of his had gone into the junk pile, and I hadn't noticed. That is fixed now.
