Halloween. Lab style

27 October, 2008

Apple bobbing is an ancient and venerable tradition at this time of year. As I was rescuing some protein from the liquid nitrogen this morning I thought of a variation.

'Falcon bobbing'. The objective is to get as many tubes (Falcons or Eppendorfs) as you can out of a dewar of liquid nitrogen, using only your unprotected fingers.

Can you think of other variations on standard Halloween (or other 'parlour games') that can be played with what's to hand in the lab?

Disclaimer: No, seriously. This would be bloody dangerous. Don't try it, OK? Unless you're particularly stupid, in which case you're on your own.
