Dear Bec,
To ensure that your students have access to your WebCT site from the first day of semester you will need to complete preparation of your site and submit an Application to Activate by June 27th, 2007.
If you do not yet have your Semester 2 site in development on CE6, please select the relevant link from the following web page and then complete and submit the online form: http://www.usyd.edu.au/webct/staff/develop/forms.shtml [From this page you can select to restore a previous version of a WebCT site or create a brand new site from scratch.] When your site is completed, submit the Application to Activate as directed below.
If you are already working on your site for semester 2 in CE6, once it is ready for release to students please complete the online Application to Activate: http://www.usyd.edu.au/webct/staff/develop/activate/a2a_info.shtml
Please note, all unit of study sites undergo a technical check to ensure that they are free of any access or technical difficulties before they are released to students. Last year there were approximately 1000 semester 2 sites which went through this activation process, so we appreciate your efforts to have your sites updated by the deadline.
This deadline applies only if you must have your site ready for the first week of semester. Those applications which arrive after the campus deadline will be processed as quickly as possible, however, we cannot guarantee they will be ready for the first week of semester.
If you are unsure about the site activation process, please read the information available on our website (http://www.usyd.edu.au/webct/staff/develop/activate/a2a_info.shtml )
As you know, sites are now made available in WebCT CE6. If you have not yet used this environment you will notice that your site looks a little different. You may like to attend a clinic session where you can get hands on assistance with the transition from CE4 to CE6. You do not need to book a session, just visit the following link to obtain the latest dates, times and locations: http://www.usyd.edu.au/webct/lms/orientation/index.shtml
Thanks,
The USyd eLearning Team
