Lisbon, Portugal: While attending the 30th annual congress of the European Accounting Association (EAA), MEAFA members have discussed ways for linking with the European research training network INTACCT.

MEAFA is seen as a 'missing piece' in financial analysis research, given its prime aim to inform accounting and finance research with modern developments in econometrics and statistics.

MEAFA's inaugural meeting took place on April 4, 2007 for determining the structure, orientation and scope of this research cluster. The significance of MEAFA was further discussed in terms of originality, contribution and impact in academia and professional life, in Sydney, Australia and beyond.

MEAFA welcomes Prof Michael Bradbury as an internationally affiliated member.
