MEAFA is delighted to have received congratulating feedback for delivering a high-quality research training workshop.

The 3-day MEAFA Professional Development Workshop on Quantitative Analysis Using Stata, 23-25 July 2008 enjoyed the participation of 40 researchers from academia (PhD students and academics), governmental bodies and the private sector, from NSW, ACT, VIC and Fiji.

Participants have provided very encouraging feedback with most of them admitting that the workshop has exceeded their expectations. To use their own words "the workshop was of high professional quality and dealt with contemporary issues in quantitative research training.

To be more precise, participants enjoyed mostly the up-to-date research training material, the thoroughly detailed notes, and the hands-on applications in Stata 10. Certainly, there is much room for improvement and we have also received a number of suggestions including: an even further integration of theory with Stata and offering more thematic days for future workshops, including Stata programming, Mata programming, Sensitivity Analysis, Mixed Effects Analysis and others.

The workshop will be offered every July and we will discuss the possibility of extending the 3 days to include more material, more presenters and higher level of interaction.

MEAFA thanks all participants for their support!
