Travel is grand, so why not travel and study while overseas? Here is the low down on exchange

Hey Buddy, how are you? I would hope that you are tops, if not we can get right. I’ve decided to ‘get right’ by doing very little, and I tell you, it’s lots of fun. I’ve been steadily cleaning my room so we can sell this house, but really when you have a week to throw stuff out it takes a lot longer to do any one thing. I’ve been chilling a lot (I have been going out a lot too though, wake up late and the like) recently too as lots of my Uni friends have been off gallivanting around the world on exchange and the like. They would be much better qualified to talk about this, but hey, I will give it a go below, and if your not happy then you can post a comment and yell at me. It could turn into a vicious circle, but hey, you wont see my tears…

Well first things first, I think that you should check out the exchange website at:
http://www.usyd.edu.au/fstudent/undergrad/study/inm/exchange.shtml . It has all the information so it would be good to have a look at if you really are excited about going away, so look at it.

The great thing about Sydney is that you can go overseas with pretty much every course, and get credit for it (so you don’t lose any time during your degree!). Obviously it is important to speak to your faculty before you go off planning your shopping trips in Monte Carlo, but there are some wonderful opportunities so check them out.

There are a lot of good points about going overseas. It is always really good to travel, but by studying in another country you will develop a much better understanding of its culture and you will also make 1000s of friends too (I have heard that most countries love Aussies, even the UK, where they call us JAFA’s. Ill let you figure out what that means). The great thing about studying Overseas too is that you will get quite a different perspective into your course, which will really benefit your learning and skill set. I also think that it is a wonderful thing to put on your resume, as it demonstrates your willingness to explore new challenges and the like.

Well, aside from all that other good stuff, I think that exchange would be soooooooo much fun!! In most cases you would be living on campus in a foreign country (its fun to live on campus full stop), and away from your parents and the like. It would be really really good fun, so that is why I would do it.

The other thing that is really good about exchange is that you pay your Sydney Fees, not the Fees of the International institution (like American Uni’s, they’re uber doober expensive), which means that your cost only really extend to your accommodation and flights. That makes it a lot more affordable, so I think that you should do that!

If you are interested I think that you should have a look at the website to get more of an idea about what the go is. But do it!! Yeah, I think that you should give it a go. All my friends who have done it have raved about it, I haven’t met one who hasn’t had a whale of a time.

Okay then, I’m off. Ill speak to you soon, well no I won’t, Ill write another blog soon, Ill only speak to you if you leave a comment!!

Tata,

Bren
