I’m guessing that whenever you meet a physio, you have this undeniable urge to tell them about your shoulder that has been dislocated 100 times, your painful lower back that develops a disc bulge every time you lean forward, or your knee pain that becomes excruciating when sitting and watching a 2 hour long movie.

(N.B this is simply an educated guess based on experience. No need to feel guilty if the above scenario describes you. Just don’t take it personally when the physio replies ‘that’s nice’ and changes topics!)

Funnily enough, no one ever has an urge to tell me about the phlegm that has been stuck in their chest that they just can’t cough up!! Yet for the past 5 weeks I have been doing just that – helping people cough up secretions.

Tips on being late

25 June, 2006

There’s a lady that catches my bus everyday and she’s always late. It’s become a community bus joke: every morning, the bus pulls up and there she is hurriedly running towards it again. Everyone on the bus is so used to it, that the driver and passengers just grin to themselves. Interestingly, she is always running late on time. She never misses the bus!

Late Lady is an unexplained phenomenon in our social world. How she manages to make it on time, late every morning, never ceases to amaze me. She could teach CityRail a few lessons…

Are you a Late Lady or a Temporally-Generous Gent? Here are some things you need to know if you’re going to be late @ uni:

Hats off to my nan

My nanna passed away last weekend after many years of suffering from dementia, and lately respiratory problems. This blog is more of an emotional and thoughtful reflection about something we all take for granted but my nanna was denied: education.

SRC to the rescue

21 June, 2006

I signed my first contract this week: I put my name on a lease. You’d think as a law student, I would actually be able to read and understand a contract. Haha, don’t be silly! Thankfully, the SRC was there to help…

The last time we spoke, I was being hounded by Mr. T.

Since then, a hound has saved me from Mr. T.

Allow me to update you, and possibly even sedate you, with my by-now boring story of two birds, a stone and a perfect hit.

I’m a city girl born and bred. Hate the traffic, but love watching buskers at Darling Harbour, going for runs without being spotted by the whole community and being able to have a good boogie on more than one dance floor. But last weekend I had my first country girl experience. And I didn’t even spot a cow!

VSU

17 June, 2006

As the time to implement this new legislation approaches there is still heavy debate going on about it. Although protests and campaigning around campus seemed to have died down I'm still pretty sure that the majority of students have not accepted it yet.

But considering how politically orientated Sydne Uni is, I'm surprised that some students have come to accept it.

So what is VSU and what do people, especially students, think???? (Remember, this is only my opinion from talking to people around Uni)

This is Big Brother

I spent tonight packing up all my bits and pieces, ready for my moving out on Saturday. It's amazing how many little things you collect over the years and I got a bit emotional tonight as I sifted through 21 years worth of memories...
