End of the journey

20 October, 2006

As I write this, you are all sitting in your various school halls / libraries / exam centres; full of jitters, nervous, about to vomit. Aka, about to sit English Paper 1.

I am feeling for you, I really am. I actually have that pre-exam nervous flutter in the pit of my stomach, for you all.

But the good news is, by the time you get around to reading this, "JOURNEYS" WILL BE OVER!!!! This is most definitely a thing to be celebrated.

Tell me how you went and rid me of my sympathy nerves! I am especially interested to know what text types they asked you for...

And then forget about it completely and toddle off to study for your other subjects! It’s all downhill after English Paper 1, trust me. Now that the ball is rolling, it will be over in no time, I promise. And if you need some perspective, I know someone who has to write a 12,000 word thesis in the next two weeks. What he has been doing all year is completely beyond me.

Good luck!

NO More journeys! yay
I thought the paper was obsecure, but my english teacher reckons it was a good one.
The text types were, photos with a quote, abit of a story and a poem. All were more so imagined or inner journeys than physical.

I thought is was a good test. The creative was simply "a form appropriate to your purpose" (i think) and the analytical was just an essay. Nothing too tricky!
