Feedback is the key

4 December, 2006

Everyone’s disliked a teacher at one stage or another, but in high school there’s usually not much you can do about it. At uni, however...

Well you can’t get anyone sacked or anything but you can definitely have your voice heard...

At the end of each semester, for practically every subject we fill out a survey about the unit of study. For psych we filled one out for the unit of study in general including WebCT (online stuff), another survey for a lecturer plus another survey about our tutor.

They are completely anonymous so you can let rip, or really get into what you thought worked about the course without anyone knowing how nerdy you are! I actually commented on how much I enjoyed the weekly quizzes in psych... Well not so much enjoyed, but they definitely helped me.

All the surveys are used to improve the unit of study for next year, and so everything is always becoming of better and better quality.

If only teachers gave us feedback about where we went wrong with our assessments! Thats what i miss about school.....
