Yep, it's finally about to arrive.
Working since Term 4 2005 and it all comes down to four little digits on your computer screen.
Stressed any?
First of all, chill.
Now please cease e-throwing rotten tomatoes at me for pointing out the obvious, and yet most difficult thing to do at this time. Yes I know it's easy for me to sit on the sideline and tell you to chill. Remember that stressing at the moment will do you no good since there isn't much you can change right now.
I personally think the day gap between HSC results and UAI is VERY VERY MEAN but yet again there isn't much you can do about it.
One thing you should try and resist is doing a UAI predictor thingy. You may have gotten a prediction from your school, and you may have already tried one online but they can be very inaccurate and you don't want to get the wrong idea about what your UAI will be. If you are having trouble fighting the urge, at least take it with the same amount of trepidation you would a fortune teller’s story, or perhaps the CityRail timetable.
I highlight again - merely a prediction.
I remember when I was getting my HSC results... Pressing “Refresh” a million times and still getting the “just bloody be patient, it’s not 9am yet” response. Well, it didn’t exactly say that but whatever.
Then after a day of “ooh”s and “aahh”s and “who got the prize?”s it was time for the more exciting event of the UAI, though this time I didn’t wake up early enough so I got it the first time I connected to the website (scary). And then of course there’s an even longer wait to see if your UAI will get you into the course you want.
So make yourself a warm drink, talk to your friends on MSN while you wait for your results, pretend you’re chilled when you’re probably freaking out like crazy on the inside... it’s all okay and normal and remember you’ve done the best you can...
Good luck!
