Given the previous blog you would probably be surprised that I actually have time to write blogs at all. I am surprised I have time to write blogs. In fact, I should be in a pre-exam fit right now, but procrastination is a calming ailment. So here it is, the second-half of my long, long days on campus

Finally, the long awaited a break. I stroll to Wentworth, one of the campus’ Union catering and amenity buildings and grabbed the Sydney Morning Herald at the Union Shop. I walk downstairs into Azzuri, one of the best cafés on campus. As the waitress greeted me by my first name and asked if I wanted the usual, I wondered whether I have spent too much time there. Nah. She’s just good with names. I spray sweetener* on the foam like icing, and consume the saccharine, chocolaty foamy delight while treading through the Quick Crossword, then onto Target. It’s great to take a break from numbers sometimes- feeling literate already.

I meet up with a friend and we Thai, Thai, Thai’ed on King St. I decide to be experimental this time and order a spicy noodle soup.

Feeling thoroughly satisfied, I go to the Project Appraisal lecture, then tutorial to put theory straight into practice. We learn about calculating economic value of projects and investments. Really put my superannuation into perspective!

Feeling slightly drained, I walk to Manning with Janice and my flatmate for a quick bite at Zabeli’s on level two, Manning. It’s nice to be surrounded by sandstone when one’s been thinking about concrete all day. I order a plate of Kransky risotto topped with spring onions, sweet potatoes, Parmesan cheese, capsicum and a hint of black pepper. Gluttony is definitely my favourite sin.
Fed and revitalised, we dig in some more Fluid Engineering and review what we have done today. Collective brainpower is the key to solving engineering problems, we discover.

When every equation is spaced by dialogues about TV shows, weekends, and that guy/girl/person/lecturer at fluid class/concrete class/across the road, we realise it’s time to go home.
So that’s it for my nine-hour uni day. Minus the Thai and the procrastination it really isn’t that bad. Before my day completely turns you off uni till the end of eternity, I should note that, at the end of the day, when I finally collapse on that comfortable mattress in my room, it was all worth it!
*Before I get electronically vilified for using sweetener, in my defence, I only use it for icing purposes. Sugar would have sunk through the foam.
