My tutor for my Internet course is one of THE guys of Internet, so he’s always running off to do conferences overseas. This means, for a month and half I only had 3 hours of a class a week on a Wednesday morning. So...time to explore Europe!
All the Europeans here are amazed at how little time the Aussies have actually spent in Denmark. We’re always traipsing off to other places, because of how close everything is...I think that’s the one thing I can’t get used to. Like, the majority of people on exchange here are from Germany, and they just drive two hours and are home again! It’s crazy!
Three of us were together travelling back to Aarhus from Warsaw. One drove, one caught the train and I flew! We had a race to get back, which included stop-overs, just to see which was the quickest way. We were all only within an hour of each other arriving home, but the driver won!
And travelling here, you don’t need to be made of money. Trains are pretty cheap, especially if you can get student or youth (under 26) discounts. There are two airlines in particular that have really cheap flights all over Europe too – EasyJet and RyanAir. Actually, I’ve spent the last few days looking at other places to travel because RyanAir has been having a sale where the flights are actually free!! You just pay taxes which are only ten euro. Yay!
I’ve been collecting badges from each of the countries I’ve been to, and now, not meaning to brag, I’ve got 14!! Bring on Europe!
