What a weekend!!
This weekend I had my 21st party. My birthday was actually in November, but because I’ve just got back I thought: ‘Why not combine a coming home/21st party?!’. It was an amazing extravaganza!
In true Aussie style, I had a country themed bush dance at my farm, about 1.5hours away from Sydney. We hired a professional bush band who taught us all to dance with partners – “swing your partner round and round” kind of stuff. Hilarious! 80 people in a marquee trying to do a jigging kind of waltz around the room – all in different directions! – was a sight to see!! I’m sure beers and lots of twirling added to the confusion!
It was so much fun though! We had BBQ breakfast followed by tennis, croquet, ping pong, walks around the farm, cow feeding, horse patting and every ball sport you can imagine for recovery on Sunday. Everyone made a huge effort to come down and all ended up camping. Seeing the confusion with poles sticking out in every direction reminded me that perhaps camping is no longer a common past time!
But, with cowboy hats flying and enough checked shirts to last me a year, everyone seemed to have fun. It was the best welcome back I could ever have imagined, and the best party! Thanks everyone!
