Blogbinding

8 February, 2005

(Cross-posted on Stack).

Print on demand is becoming more prevalent these days, and thank goodness. Some of us are not willing to give up the wonderfully tactile pastime of reading a book. And let's face it, the technology is so brilliant that it will be a long time, if ever, before someone can come up with something that so fully suits our needs. You can read it in bed, you can read it while you're eating dinner, you can read it on the bus, you never lose your place, you're not worried about it crashing, no need to worry about obsolete storage methods, if you lose it you can just get another copy and pick up where you left off. Print on demand brings the best of two worlds together. You can read it online and take it away in your hand.

Now, there's blogbinding. A service that allows you to turn your blog into a book. I am not sure about this, one of the attractions of blogging is its disposable nature. Some posts aren't worth keeping, some have an extremely short life-span and those you want to keep can be repackaged elsewhere.
